Clash of Clans spends $1m per day on marketing!
A report published by Mida Research suggested that Supercell the company who are most famous for the game Clash of Clans, Boom Beach and Hay Day spend up to $1m per day marketing Clash of Clans!
While this sounds like a crazy amount of money for advertising a FREE game readily available at both Apple and Android App stores the company is reported to make $5m in the same 24 hour period through in App purchases.
The pay to play scenarios include upgrading of bases and troops for the player to use in the game, additional levels, and special characters. At the core of the game players build and defend their bases which gamers can also pay to speed up the construction of various structures.
Fellow Clash of Clans fans know the deliberate slow down in which players can build and upgrade their buildings and weapons is super annoying which makes in-game purchases an attractive option for those who don’t want to wait.
Supercell reported in February of 2014 that the company made $892 million in revenue from 2013 alone and that was from only two games Clash of Clans and Hay Day. They have since added Boom Beach to the mix.
